BAYTOWN, TX (July 11, 2023) – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Ricardo Rodriguez after a crash in the 4210 block of West Cedar Bayou Lynchburg Road on July 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Kenyon Road at approximately 1:00 PM. Based on the report, Rodriguez was driving a white GMC Yukon SUV at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway before striking a ditch. The impact caused the GMC to roll and hit a utility pole, throwing him and a 3-year-old boy from the vehicle.
 
As a result, the toddler was pronounced dead at the scene. He was sitting in the front seat and was not restrained in the proper car seat.
 
Rodriguez was not hurt and showed signs of intoxication. Officers arrested him for felony murder.
