Randy Bingham and Marcia Bingham Dead in Refugio County Car Accident
REFUGIO COUNTY, TX (January 21, 2025) — Two Refugio residents, Randy Bingham and Marcia Bingham, died in an accident on Friday, January 17
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. on Highway 77 near the Aransas River.
Texas DPS said the elderly couple drove southbound in their 2019 Ford F-250 on Highway 77, en route to a doctor’s appointment. Then, as they approached a curve near the Aransas River, the vehicle veered off the road. After that, it overturned and landed upside down in the river.
DPS Troopers, along with Refugio County Sheriff’s deputies, responded to the scene. They found the bodies of Randy and Marcia Bingham inside the submerged vehicle. Refugio County Justice of the Peace Eli Riemenschneider pronounced the 71-year-old couple dead at the scene.
Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens assisted in the recovery of the vehicle and the extraction of the victims.
Texas DPS and the Refugio County Highway Patrol Office handle the ongoing investigation of the circumstances of the crash.
