Pregnant Woman, Two Others Suffer Injuries as Juan Bustamante Gets Arrested After Suspected DUI Crash on Bristol Street
COSTA MESA, CA (October 13, 2022) — A pregnant woman, along with alleged drunk driver Juan Bustamante and another person, suffered injuries in a suspected DUI crash on Bristol Street on Saturday afternoon, October 8.
According to the Costa Mesa Police, the collision occurred at around 5:15 p.m. in the 2900 block of Bristol Street.
Authorities said a truck, driven by 53-year-old Bustamante, traveled along Bristol Street and ran a red light before colliding into another vehicle. It then crashed over a curb and rammed through Bred’s Nashville Hot Chicken and the Seabirds Kitchen.
The force of impact inflicted injuries to a pregnant store manager of Seabirds Kitchen, who suffered a broken leg.
Both the passenger in the other vehicle involved and Bustamante sustained minor injuries.
It was unclear if all the harmed individuals received transportation and treatment at a hospital.
Officers arrested Bustamante on suspicion of driving under the influence.
