Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on East Valencia Road in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (August 22, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department confirmed that a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run in the 200 block of East Valencia Road on August 6.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 5:00 AM. Based on a report, the victim and another male pedestrian were in the westbound travel lanes of Valencia Road at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle hit them and left the scene.
 
Officers arrived and found the victims in the roadway. Crews from the Tucson Fire Department said one of the men sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. They did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
They also took the second pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition.
 
Detectives are now asking anyone with information about the collision to call 911 or 88-CRIME. As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
