Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on Highway 164 at 228th Avenue Southeast [Enumclaw, WA]

Driver Arrested after Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Highway 164

 
ENUMCLAW, WA (April 20, 2023) – Officers confirmed that a 22-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run on Highway 164 on April 1.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at 228th Avenue Southeast. Based on a report, the victim was walking westbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a black SUV traveling eastbound struck him.
 
As a result, the victim sustained grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the SUV left the scene before troopers arrived.
 
After an investigation, troopers determined that the SUV was a black 2014 to 2020 black Acura MDX with silver trim. Later that day, the Enumclaw Police Department contacted the WSP after they impounded a vehicle and they confirmed that it was the same vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
 
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
