PHOENIX, AZ (April 24, 2023) – Officers confirmed that a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident on 17 Freeway on April 23.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash happened near Thomas Road shortly before 4:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, officers initially responded to the scene following a report about the victim who was lying in the road. The report said a vehicle possibly struck the victim and left the scene.
 
When troopers arrived, they found the victim was not responsive. As a result, they said the victim died at the scene.
 
Investigators tagged the case as a fatal hit-and-run. As of now, no other details are available.
