Pursuit Ends in Crash, Arrest of Paul Bolanos and Samantha Hernandez in Lubbock

 
LUBBOCK, TX (June 10, 2024) – The Lubbock Police Department arrested 31-year-old Paul Bolanos and 19-year-old Samantha Hernandez following a high-speed crash in the 1200 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive on May 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, an LPD officer attempted to pull over Bolanos in the 600 block of Marsha Sharp Freeway following a reported stolen vehicle. Based on a report, Bolanos refused to stop, causing the officer to initiate a pursuit.
 
Bolanos drove at a high rate of speed west on the access road of Marsha Sharp Freeway and the pursuit continued north on Buddy Holly Avenue before the suspect lost control and rolled over in the 1200 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive.
 
As a result, Bolanos suffered minor injuries in the crash. Hernandez, his passenger, suffered moderate injuries.
 
Bolanos then exited the vehicle and ran off, but officers took him into custody after a short pursuit. Police booked him and Hernandez into the Lubbock County Detention Center following their release from University Medical Center.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
