TUCSON, AZ (March 29, 2023) – Tucson Police officers arrested 34-year-old Oscar Torres after a hit-and-run accident on East Benson Highway on March 24.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Tournament Way around 9:45 PM.
 
Based on a report, a pedestrian was crossing mid-block at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck the victim and fled from the scene.
 
As a result, the accident left the pedestrian dead at the scene. Officials did not yet release the deceased’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
Witnesses described the vehicle as a blue 2004 Dodge Ram. Subsequently, patrol officers in the area located the vehicle and Torres in a nearby neighborhood. They charged him with Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Collision.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
