Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 60 in Tempe

 
TEMPE, AZ (April 1, 2024) – Officials confirmed that one person died in a wrong-way accident on Highway 60 on March 24.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 10 Freeway shortly before 11:00 PM. Based on a report, the victim was driving a vehicle on the wrong way in the westbound lanes of the highway near the ramp prior to the accident.
 
Subsequently, their vehicle collided with another car.
 
As a result, the wrong-way driver suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
The occupants of the other car had non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews took the victims to the hospital for treatment.
