Speeding Pickup Truck Involved in Fatal Crash on Highway 90 in Sanderson

 
SANDERSON, TX (April 1, 2024) – Police confirmed that four people died in a high-speed crash on Highway 90 on March 18.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened at Highway 285. Based on a report, a crew-cabbed pickup sped away after a DPS trooper tried to pull it over.
 
Subsequently, a chase ensued through Highway 285. When the truck veered into the oncoming lane of the two-lane highway, it slammed into an oncoming pickup. Both vehicles erupted in flames.
 
As a result, the driver and rear-seat male in the fleeing truck sustained grave injuries and died in the crash. The victims were from Mexico. Reports did not release details about the other two victims.
 
The DPS statement did not indicate the reason for the traffic stop that initiated the chase.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
