Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Tucson Car Crash on East Grant Road
TUCSON, AZ (June 5, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department confirmed that one person died in a two-vehicle crash on East Grant Road on May 27.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at North Rosemont Boulevard shortly before 10:00 PM. Based on a report, a Hyundai Elantra was at Grant, attempting to turn left onto northbound Rosemont.
Due to unknown reasons, a westbound Chevrolet Traverse crashed into it.
As a result, Tucson Fire Department personnel said a 76-year-old male passenger of the Elantra died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
The adult female driver of the car suffered serious injuries. Officers said she had a suspended driver’s license.
The driver of the Traverse, a 27-year-old female, was not hurt in the incident.
Authorities said failure to yield while making a left turn by the Elantra is the contributing factor to the crash.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
