Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (June 5, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department confirmed that a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run on Highway 17 on June 1.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Thunderbird Road. Based on a report, the pedestrian was on the northbound side of the highway near the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck the victim. Then, the driver left the scene, without providing aid to the victim.
 
As a result, DPS said officers found the victim dead at the scene. Officials did not yet release the deceased’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
As of now, an investigation to identify and locate the hit-and-run driver is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
