Fatal Semi-Truck Accident on 40 Freeway in Sanders

 
SANDERS, AZ (September 10, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that one person died in a semi-truck accident on 40 Freeway on August 31.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened roughly 20 miles from the New Mexico border around 3:00 AM. Based on a report, a semi-truck sideswiped another semi-truck heading eastbound on the freeway.
 
Subsequently, the crash caused the at-fault driver to lose control and slam into the overpass. The truck went up in flames and was left hanging off the overpass.
 
As a result, the driver of that truck suffered grave injuries in the incident. Officials did not release her name, pending kin notification.
 
Crews took the other truck driver to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
