WAPATO, WA (August 2, 2023) – Yakima County Sheriff’s deputies confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident in the 2300 block of West Wapato Road on July 18.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 11:15 PM. Based on a report, the pedestrian was on the road before the accident.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle came and struck the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Deputies did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the car remained at the scene. Officers ask anyone with any information to contact the YCSO at 509-574-2500.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
