87-Year-Old Woman Killed, Ana Ramirez Arrested in Edcouch Crash on Highway 107

 
EDCOUCH, TX (August 2, 2023) – The Edcouch Police Department arrested Ana Ramirez for DUI after a fatal crash on Highway 107 on July 19.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at the intersection of Mile 2. Based on a report, Ramirez was driving a vehicle with a 4-year-old boy as her passenger.
 
Due to unknown reasons, she crashed into another vehicle.
 
Officers said an unidentified 87-year-old woman died in the crash.
 
Ramirez’s 4-year-old passenger was hospitalized and underwent surgery. Police arrested and charged Ramirez with intoxication manslaughter.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. However, no other details are available.
