Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on East Flamingo Road in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 31, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on East Flamingo Road on August 15.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at South Pecos Road at approximately 3:50 AM. Based on a report, the man was walking his dog near the intersection prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, the dog darted into the road and the man began chasing it. A 2023 Nissan Kicks traveling east on East Flamingo Road then hit him after he traveled into its path outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
Police said both the pedestrian and the dog were struck by the vehicle.
 
As a result, the man and the dog both suffered grave injuries. Crews transported the man to UMC Trauma, where he later died. The Clark County Coroner’s office did not yet release his name, pending kin notification. The dog also died.
 
Police say the driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
 
As of now, the investigation into the crash continues. In addition, no other details are available.
