Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Centennial Parkway at Tenaya Way in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 31, 2023) – Officers confirmed that a fatal bicycle accident on Centennial Parkway occurred in Las Vegas on August 9.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Tenaya Way at approximately 6:05 AM. Based on a report, a 64-year-old bicyclist was riding in the marked bike lane northbound on Tenaya Way prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a minor was driving a Hyundai on the same direction at a high rate of speed. Police said the driver was fleeing a separate hit-and-run crash. Due to unknown reasons, the minor hit the rear of the bicyclist and fled the area.
 
As a result, the bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews transported the victim to UMC Trauma, where he died. Officials did not yet release his name, pending kin notification.
 
Police later located and arrested the driver of the Hyundai.
 
As of now, the investigation into the crash continues. In addition, no other details are available.
