Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 5 Freeway in Arlington

 
ARLINGTON, WA (April 17, 2024) – The Washington State Department of Transportation confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway on April 5.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Highway 531 around 5:15 AM. Based on a report, a car hit the pedestrian just north of milepost 206.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the deceased’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
Traffic crews closed all the lanes of the northbound side of the 5 Freeway to give way to a clearing operation.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. However, no other details regarding the accident are available at this time.
