Semi-Truck Carrying Ammonia Involved in Fatal Willcox Accident on 10 Freeway

 
WILLCOX, AZ (October 16, 2023) – Officials confirmed that one person died in a semi-truck accident on 10 Freeway on October 10.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near milepost 354 around 7:30 AM. Based on a report, a driver of a semi suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, he lost control of the truck and caused it to crash into a tractor trailer carrying ammonia.
 
As a result, a passenger in the tractor trailer carrying ammonia suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the truck suffered life-threatening injuries.
 
DPS said the at fault driver suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
