Fatal Car Crash on Homestead Road in Kennewick

 
KENNEWICK, WA (October 16, 2023) – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that two teens died in a crash on Homestead Road on October 6.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Badger Road around 9:20 AM. Based on a report, a lost control of the vehicle, went off the road and ended up in a ravine. There were six teen girls in the car at the time of the crash.
 
As a result, one of those teens died at the scene. Another teen died of her injuries at the hospital. Officials did not yet release their names, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The four other passengers suffered injuries.
 
Authorities said the preliminary investigation indicated the driver may have been speeding at the time of the crash. They also said it was possible the driver was not familiar with the area or the roads.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
