Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on South Maple Street in Spokane

 
SPOKANE, WA (September 12, 2023) – The Spokane Police Department confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on South Maple Street on September 6.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at West 4th Avenue. Based on a report, the victim and another pedestrian were near the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle came and struck them.
 
As a result, both pedestrians suffered grave injuries in the incident. Police said the female pedestrian later died at the hospital. Officials did not yet release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The male pedestrian remains in the hospital with critical injuries.
 
The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with officers. Police added that speed and impairment were not factors.
