Marty Wampler Identified in Fatal Crash on Loop 338 in Ector County

 
ECTOR COUNTY, TX (September 12, 2023) – Officers identified 63-year-old Marty Emerson Wampler of Odessa who died in crash on Loop 338 on August 25.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 58-year-old Sue Maudeen Cain of Odessa was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on Loop 338 at the time of the crash.
 
Wampler was her passenger along with 19-year-old Trent Allen Wallace. At the same time, 22-year-old Herman Romero Morales was driving a 2022 Ford F-150 westbound on the same road. Based on a report, Cain failed to yield the right of way while turning left onto FM 3503 and was hit by Morales’ vehicle.
 
As a result, Wampler suffered grave injuries and died at the Medical Center Hospital.
 
Crews transported Cain to the hospital in stable but serious condition. Wallace was in critical condition while Morales did not suffer any injury.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
