One Killed, One Injured in Car Accident on Highway 97 [Cle Elum, WA]

Fatal Car Crash on Highway 97 in Cle Elum

 
CLE ELUM, WA (December 16, 2022) – The Washington State Department of Transportation confirmed that one person died in a car accident on Highway 97 on December 14.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Blewett Pass. Based on a report, a pickup was traveling south of the highway prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, it lost control and crossed the center lane. Then, it collided with a semi-truck traveling north.
 
As a result, a passenger in the pickup died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Another passenger in the truck had non-life-threatening injuries. Crews took the patient to Central Washington Hospital.
 
As of now, the investigation into the case remains ongoing.
