Fatal Car Accident on Highway 395 Alternate at William Brent Road in Washoe County

 
WASHOE COUNTY, NV (July 26, 2023) – Officials confirmed that one person died in an accident on Highway 395 Alternate on July 16.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at William Brent Road around 12:55 AM. Based on a report, an Infiniti was traveling south on the highway when it left the road.
 
Subsequently, the vehicle hit two paddle markers, spun, and reentered the northbound side of the highway. It then went airborne, went over a culvert, hit a tree and stopped in the field of a home.
 
As a result, the passenger of the vehicle suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the Infiniti sustained unspecified injuries. Emergency crews transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.
 
Authorities said speeding was a factor in the crash.
 
At this point, officers continue to investigate the case. In addition, no other details are available.
