PLATTEVILLE, CO (September 25, 2023) – The Platteville Police Department confirmed that one person died in an accident on Highway 85 on September 10.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at Justin Avenue around 1:17 AM. Based on a report, an SUV was traveling on the southbound lane of the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Police said the victim was one of the ten people inside the vehicle. Also, they confirmed the victim and an infant were sitting on the laps of adults. Preliminary reports indicated the SUV turned in front of a semi-truck and caused a crash.
 
As a result, the force ejected the children along with the other passengers. Police said the young child suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Nine others sustained injuries and four of the victims were in critical condition.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
