Four Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on Highway 93 in Yavapai County
YAVAPAI COUNTY, AZ (June 17, 2024) – Officials confirmed that one person died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 93 on May 30.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at milepost 179 near Alamos Road shortly before 8:00 AM. Based on a report, the victim was driving a box truck heading northbound on the highway during the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, the truck crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a commercial vehicle that was traveling southbound. Subsequently, the truck caught fire in the incident. Two other commercial vehicles were also involved in the crash. One of the vehicles and a trailer from the second vehicle rolled over.
As a result, the driver of the box truck died at the scene. Officials did not release the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
The Department of Transportation said crews closed the northbound lanes of the freeway at Highway 71.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
