Three Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on Highway 77 in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ (March 25, 2024) – The Tucson Police Department confirmed that one person died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 77 on March 11.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Biosphere 2. Based on a report, a commercial vehicle was heading north on the highway before the crash.

Subsequently, it caught fire after the incident.

As a result, the victim who was driving the passenger vehicle sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.

Crews took the driver of the vehicle that caught fire to a Tucson hospital for treatment.
