Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Alto Avenue in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 2, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that one died in a multi-vehicle crash on Alto Avenue on September 22.

According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Betty Lane around 6:35 PM. Based on a report, a man and a woman who were stealing parts from a stolen vehicle ran away when a marked LVMPD vehicle arrived.

The suspects fled the scene westbound on Alto Avenue in a Chevrolet Tahoe at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a Chevrolet Silverado was driving northbound on Betty Lane. An unoccupied utility truck and a Nissan Quest were also parked on a grave shoulder nearby.

Due to unknown reasons, the Chevrolet Tahoe failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into the side of the Chevrolet Silverado. The Chevrolet Silverado then crashed into the parked vehicles.

As a result, the 33-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe died at the scene.

The 28-year-old female passenger of the Tahoe and the driver of the Silverado sustained moderate injuries.

As of now, the investigation into the crash continues. In addition, no other details are available.
