Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on Highway 183 in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (February 20, 2024) – The Austin Police Department confirmed that one person died in a crash on Highway 183 on February 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Planeview Drive around 2:40 AM. Based on a report, two vehicles collided in the lanes.
 
As a result, the Austin-Travis County EMS said one person suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Crews rescued another person who was pinned in the crash. They transported the victim to a local hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.
 
The crash closed the highway in both directions.
