COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (February 20, 2024) – The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that a dog died and a pedestrian sustained injuries in an accident on La Clede Avenue on February 8.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at Lorraine Street shortly before 5:00 PM. Based on a report, an off-duty Colorado Springs police officer was walking his dog during the incident.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck them.
 
As a result, the dog died in the incident. The pedestrian had serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews transported the patient to the hospital for treatment.
