82-Year-Old Woman Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 2 at North Kelsey Street in Monroe

 
MONROE, WA (February 20, 2024) – The Monroe Police Department confirmed that an 82-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 2 on February 12.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at North Kelsey Street at approximately 6:50 AM. Based on a report, the woman was walking in a crosswalk and crossing the highway during the incident.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle headed west hit her.
 
As a result, the woman suffered grave injuries and died. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office did not yet release the victim’s identity.
 
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
