Fatal Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 50 in Fernley

 
FERNLEY, NV (August 12, 2024) – Officials confirmed that one person died in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 50 on July 24.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened at Reno Fernley Raceway shortly after 8:15 AM. Based on a report, one car tried to pass a semi-truck unsafely.
 
Subsequently, the car collided with the semi-truck and two other cars.
 
As a result, one person suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Emergency crews transported three people with non-life-threatening injuries to the hospital for treatment.
