Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on Sunset Road at Athenian Drive in Henderson

 
HENDERSON, NV (January 23, 2024) – The Henderson Police Department confirmed that one person died in a crash on Sunset Road on January 6.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened at Athenian Drive at approximately 12:12 PM. Based on a report, a Ford coupe was traveling on eastbound Sunset Road, waiting to turn onto Athenian Drive at a flashing yellow light.
 
At the same time, a Dodge sedan was heading west on the same road. Due to unknown reasons, the Ford failed to yield the right of way and made the turn. The Dodge then crashed into its passenger side.
 
As a result, both the driver and passenger in the Ford suffered injuries. Emergency crews transported the victims to the hospital, where the passenger died. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Police did not suspect speed or impairment as factors in the crash.
