Fatal SUV-18-Wheeler Accident on 80 Freeway in Mesquite

 
MESQUITE, TX (February 6, 2023) – Mesquite Police confirmed that one person died in a car accident on 80 Freeway on January 30.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Town Boulevard just before 2:00 AM. Based on a report, the SUV was traveling on the freeway prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, it collided with an 18-wheeler truck.
 
As a result, the SUV driver suffered grave injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported the driver to a hospital, where the victim died. Officials did not yet release the deceased’s name, pending kin notification.
 
In addition, the collision also shut down the eastbound lanes of the highway and officials diverted drivers to the south service road of the highway.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
