Fatal Bicycle Accident on Highway 2 in Commerce City

 
COMMERCE CITY, CO (January 9, 2024) – The Commerce City Police Department confirmed that one person died in a bicycle accident in the 6400 block of Highway 2 on January 3.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at Alpine Avenue shortly after 10:00 AM. Based on a report, the cyclist collided with a vehicle.
 
As a result, the male victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Crews closed Highway 2 to give way to police work.
 
Police said the driver stayed on scene and they do not suspect speeding or alcohol were involved in the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
