Bicycle Involved in Fatal Accident on Appleway Trail in Spokane Valley

 
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (January 18, 2024) – The Spokane Valley Police Department confirmed that one person died in a bicycle accident on Appleway Trail on January 12.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Evergreen Road around 4:55 AM. Based on a report, the bicyclist was traveling east on the Appleway Trail before the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the victim tried to cross Evergreen Road and was struck by a car.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews took the rider to the hospital, where he died. The Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office did not release the rider’s name.
 
Deputies said the driver and passenger of the car stopped and cooperated with police.
 
Impairment and speed were not factors in the crash.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
