GLENDALE, AZ (May 18, 2023) — One person died in the three-vehicle car crash on Loop 101 in Glendale on Friday, May 12.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident happened on westbound Loop 101 near the 67th Avenue exit just before 5:45 a.m.
 
Authorities confirmed that there is a fatality in the incident. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
Paramedics transported two others to the hospital.
 
The collision forced all westbound traffic to exit at 59th Avenue. It caused major traffic backups in the area.
 
The freeway reopened shortly before 9:30 a.m. No other information is known at this time.
