Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Main Street in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (May 18, 2023) — A man died after a pedestrian accident on East Main Street on Saturday, May 13.
 
According to the El Cajon Police Department, the pedestrian accident happened just before 11:00 p.m. in the 1300 block of East Main Street near North 2nd Street.
 
El Cajon police Lt. Darrin Forster said the man, who was in his 70’s or 80’s, died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name or city of residence.
 
The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Police have not released if the man was in a marked crosswalk when the accident happened.
 
At this point in the investigation, they do not suspect alcohol or drugs as a factor in the crash. However, officers urge anyone with information about the incident to contact El Cajon police at 619-579-3311.
