One Killed, Two Hurt in 10 Freeway in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 10 Freeway near 16th Street

 
PHOENIX, AZ (November 30, 2023) — One person died following a fatal crash on 10 Freeway just after 8 p.m. on Monday, November 13.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash took place in the eastbound lanes of 10 Freeway and near 16th Street.
 
Reports said a flatbed tow truck sideswiped another vehicle. The impact caused the truck to spin out of control. After that, the tow truck then came to an instant stop where a third vehicle struck the rear of the truck.
 
The driver of the third vehicle died at the scene. Paramedics rushed a passenger in that vehicle, a woman in her 60s, to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
 
The tow truck driver sustained a head injury.
 
There were no reports of other serious injuries in the incident.
 
Officials closed 10 Freeway during the on-scene investigation.
