PHOENIX, AZ (June 17, 2024) — A person died in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway at about 10:00 p.m. Friday, May 24.
 
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers, the crash took place on 10 Freeway, just west of University Drive. The area is south of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
 
Phoenix DPS said a driver in the westbound lanes of 10 Freeway fatally struck the pedestrian. The victim’s identity is not immediately available.
 
While there are limited details available about the crash, DPS believes other vehicles struck the person after the initial crash. It’s unclear if any of the drivers stayed at the scene.
 
Authorities closed the westbound lanes of the freeway during the investigation. They reopened it at about 5:00 a.m. Saturday.
