RENO, NV (January 29, 2024) — A rider died in a motorcycle crash near Double R Boulevard on Wednesday, January 17.
 
Crews responded to reports of a vehicle crash on Double R Boulevard near Amston Road shortly before 7:00 p.m.
 
The investigation determined a northbound motorcycle hit a southbound vehicle as the vehicle turned left into a private driveway. Emergency responders pronounced the motorcycle rider dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Multiple witnesses also stayed on the scene.
 
Authorities said speed contributed as a factor on the part of the motorcycle appears. Whether alcohol impairment played a role is yet to be determined.
 
The Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team handles the investigation of the crash.
