CONGRESS, AZ (January 10, 2025) — One person died, and another sustained injuries in a semi-truck accident on Highway 93 on Friday, January 3.
 
The Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash happened a little after 12:00 a.m. on Highway 93 near Santa Maria River Road.
 
Arizona DPS said the crash involved a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. However, there are no reports yet on what led to the collision.
 
Troopers responded and then confirmed one person died in the crash. Meanwhile, paramedics transported another person to the hospital in a non-life-threatening condition.
 
Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased, pending family notification.
 
There are no reports of whether speed or impairment contributed to the incident.
 
Authorities closed southbound Highway 93 is down to one lane in the area. The closed lanes have since reopened.
