Nyla Gamboa Involved Fatal Bicycle Accident in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (December 11, 2024) – Authorities arrested 22-year-old Nyla Gamboa after a fatal hit-and-run on Airtex Drive on December 4.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Brundage Drive. Based on a report, Gamboa was driving near the intersection when she hit a male cyclist and fled the scene.
 
As a result, the cyclist suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Investigators identified Gamboa through surveillance video after she ditched her vehicle a few blocks away from the crash scene. The car was still running but when she fled in another vehicle.
 
Authorities later arrested her at George Bush Intercontinental Airport on failure to stop and render aid involving death. The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said she had no prior convictions. Her bond was set at $40,000.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
