9-Year-Old Ilai Petersen Identified in Fatal Chandler Accident

 
CHANDLER, AZ (November 21, 2023) – The Chandler Police Department identified 9-year-old Ilai Petersen who died in an accident on Price Road on November 11.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at the intersection of Ray Road around 10:30 AM. Based on a report, the boy was coming from a festival just down the street with his father.
 
At that point, two vehicles collided at the intersection and one car went onto the sidewalk and struck them.
 
As a result, the boy suffered grave injuries and died at the hospital.
 
Emergency crews took his father to the hospital for treatment.
 
There is a GoFundMe for the medical and funerary expenses of the victim.
