Nicole Wheeler and Theodore Colfax Identified in Injury Crash in Port Angeles

 
PORT ANGELES, WA (August 9, 2024) – Officials identified 41-year-old Nicole Wheeler and 45-year-old Theodore Colfax who suffered injuries in a crash on Highway 101 on July 23.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 10:30 PM. Based on a report, Wheeler’s Chevy Tahoe was going westbound on the highway before the crash.
 
 
At the same time, a Nissan Pathfinder was also traveling westbound. When the Chevy stopped at a construction light at Wisen Creek Road, the Nissan failed to stop at the light and struck the Chevy from behind. The impact totaled both vehicles as they came to rest in the roadway.
 
As a result, Wheeler and Colfax, her passenger, were hurt in the crash. Crews transported them to Forks Community Hospital for treatment.
 
Officers charged the driver of the Nissan Pathfinder, Zoe Lavoie, with driving under the influence.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
