FANNIN COUNTY, TX (January 24, 2023) – Troopers identified 60-year-old Nicolas Santana as the victim who died in an accident on Highway 78 on January 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at night time. Based on a report, Santana was driving a tractor south on the highway, hauling a homemade trailer with no lighting.
 
At an intersection, he slowed down to make a left turn when the driver of the semi, 65-year-old William Isham crashed into the back of his trailer. Subsequently, the tractor rolled over, ejecting Santana into the roadway.
 
As a result, troopers pronounced Santana dead at the scene.
