Jesse Espino Identified in Fatal Fresno Hit-and-Run, Shane Shahan Arrested

 
FRESNO, CA (January 24, 2022) – The Fresno Police Department identified 35-year-old Jesse Espino of Clovis as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on McKinley Avenue on January 11.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at First Street around 3:00 AM. Based on a report, Espino was a passenger in a gold car going northbound on First Street.
 
At that time, 33-year-old Shane Lee Shahan ran a red light while going westbound toward McKinley Avenue and hit Espino’s car. Police said Shahan ran away from the scene.
 
As a result, Espino and another passenger in the gold car suffered injuries. Crews took them to CRMC, where Espino died.
 
Police arrested Shahan for Felony Hit and Run and Felony Vehicular Manslaughter charges.
