Lisa McCuan Killed, Dan Fallis Injured in Car Crash on Highway 29 at Diener Drive [Lake County, CA]

Lisa McCuan Identified in Fatal Lake Country Crash, Dan Fallis Faces Charges

 
LAKE COUNTY, CA (January 24, 2022) – Officers identified 40-year-old Lisa McCuan of Clearlake as the victim who died in a crash on Highway 29 on January 15.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just north of Diener Drive around 6:30 PM. Based on a report, McCuan was driving a Toyota Highlander with two passengers north on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
At the same time, 51-year-old Dan Fallis of Clearlake was driving a Dodge Ram 1500 south on the same roadway. Due to unknown reasons, Fallis drove the Dodge over two solid yellow lines into the northbound lane and struck McCuan’s SUV head-on.
 
As a result, McCuan died at the scene due to severe injuries.
 
Fallis and a 16-year-old in the Toyota suffered major injuries and were taken to Adventist Health Clear Lake.
 
Crews transported another victim in the vehicle to Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport for moderate injuries.
 
Fallis was not arrested because of the severity of his injuries. The agency has recommended that the Lake County District Attorney’s office charge Fallis with involuntary manslaughter.
 
As of now, an investigation is ongoing.
