Julio Estrada Struck and Killed While Walking Dog in Sonoma

 
SONOMA, CA (January 24, 2022) – Officers identified 36-year-old Julio Estrada as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident on Verano Avenue on January 16.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Highway 12 shortly after 8:00 PM. Based on a report, Estrada was walking a dog in the crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
At that time, 24-year-old Alvaro Avalos of Sonoma was driving a 2019 Toyota Tundra heading west on Verano. As he turned southbound on Highway 12, he struck Estrada.
 
As a result, the Sonoma Valley Fire Department pronounced Estrada dead at the scene.
 
Avalos immediately stopped, and remained at the scene. Paulson said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash at this time.
