Motorcyclist Nicholas Cooper Hit, Killed in Highway 150 Crash
VENTURA COUNTY, CA (August 22, 2022) – Nicholas Ryan Cooper died in a motorcycle crash on Highway 150 last Tuesday, August 16.
Authorities received a report of the fatal crash around 2:35 p.m. According to police, a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja and a 2022 Mazda CX-9 SUV crashed near Casitas Pass.
Initial investigations revealed that 38-year-old Cooper was heading eastbound when he crossed solid double-yellow lines and approached oncoming traffic west of Rameli Ranch. Then, he collided into a 30-year-old woman driving the SUV.
A Ventura County helicopter airlifted Cooper to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment. However, he later died, police said.
The SUV driver suffered minor injuries with cuts on her feet, officials confirmed.
CHP reported that the use of alcohol or drugs, nor speed were factors in the accident.
Authorities closed down the affected lanes for the investigation.
